Develop Yourself Professionally: Essential Supervision Skills
These days taking time to develop yourself professionally, especially as a supervisor or manager, can be particularly challenging and extremely rewarding. Our new course series, Essential Supervision Skills, Parts I, II, and III has recently been announced! Part I rolled out to rave reviews June 8-11 and participants are eagerly awaiting Parts II and III, which are slated to roll out by the end of this year.
Essential Supervision Skills courses are current, relevant and based on the HHS Leadership Competencies. Learning objectives for each course include:
Part I
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the responsibilities of a supervisor;
- Manage the transition to supervisor;
- Identify different leadership styles;
- Delegate work;
- Give effective performance feedback;
- Motivate subordinates;
- Understand basic EEO laws, grievance; procedures and requirements;
- Understand basic Human Resources laws and regulations; and,
- Understand what ethical principles to apply to decisions.
