Directions for Submitting Rotation Opportunities:

1. Upload a Rotation Opportunity

Offices that would like to make a rotation opportunity available will visit the rotation opportunity upload link at http://hhsu.learning.hhs.gov/Elpco/ELPForm.aspx .  When the potential rotation supervisor visits the site they will find a website where the rotation description and contact information can be filled in.

If rotation supervisors would like the posting to be available all year long they can check all four boxes for the time periods which the rotation will be offered.  Please note that all fields with a red asterisk  (*) must be filled to submit the rotation opportunity.  When all fields have been filled in completely, click the SAVE button at the bottom of the screen and a red message will appear at the top of the screen notifying the user that the information has been uploaded.  Rotation objectives should be specific and measurable assignments for  the interns to complete.

2. Administrative Processing

Please allow 48 hours for your  submission to be processed  by the  ELP administrators.  Rotation opportunities may not be approved if they  comprise primarily of clerical duties and lack a description of the deliverables the intern will need to complete.  These assignments are intended to provide a environment to challenge the interns and for them to learn more about the Operating/Staffing Division and the Department.  By participating in rotations, interns can gain management experience, work in specific occupational fields, or learn about a program function from another perspective.

3. Viewing Rotation Opportunity

After the rotation opportunity is approved, the rotation description can be found by visiting http://hhsu.learning.hhs.gov/Elpco/Currentops.aspx.  Rotation opportunities are  assigned based upon the Operating Division that the  manager selected when completing the online form.  This page is visited frequently by the Emerging Leader  interns viewing new opportunities.  Emerging Leader  interns are responsible for making contact with the potential rotation supervisor using the information listed on the posting.
