APPLICATION PROCEDURES 2008


On-Line Application
Please fill out the online application in its entirety via: https://jobs1.quickhire.com/scripts/hhs-elp.exe
  • There is a section to input your resume/Curriculum Vitae, (outlining both your paid/unpaid work experience; honors received; extra curricular experience; special skills; and leadership roles)
  • Please include a short cover letter summarizing your experience and qualifications for the program (1 page maximum)
  • You will need to complete this application by the vacancy closing date, midnight 3/14/08
Recommendations
Please provide a recommendation letter from two people who are best able to assess your analytic ability, communication skills, and leadership potential. You must provide a recommendation from one academic (dean, counselor or faculty (not facility) advisor), and one professional reference. Additional references will be disregarded.
  • The recommendation should be on business letterhead with original signatures
  • We must receive your reference packet, postmarked by 3/14/08
  • We will not accept faxes, emails or PDF documents

Postcard
Please include a self addressed, stamped postcard with your recommendation package. This postcard will be mailed back to you as a record that your application was received.

Transcripts
We will request transcripts at a future date from selected candidates. Please do not submit transcripts at this time.
 
Timeline
  • Interviews will be held in Washington, DC, in May 2008
  • Selections for the Program will be made by mid June 2008 
  • The program begins in July 2008

Eligibility Requirements
  • You must be a US citizen
  • You must be eligible to qualify at the GS-9 level ( http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/). The following will qualify you at the GS-9 level; Master's degree, PH.D, JD or higher level degree from an accredited college or university. You may also qualify with Bachelor's degree with 1 year of specialized experience related to the career track for which you are applying.
