HHS University

HHS is excited to announce that the Department's HHS Learning Portal will be updated with a number of important system updates and patches.

Why?

The updates will enable HHS Learning Portal users' enhanced functionality, improved performance, and will correct system issues in the base product.

When?

As a result of the updates, the following are key dates that will impact your accessibility to the HHS Learning Portal.

  • August 31 at 6:00 am through midnight September 3, 2009: The HHS Learning Portal will be unavailable due to a four day black-out period to implement the system upgrade.
  • September 4, 2009 at 8:00 am: The black-out period will end and users will have access to the upgraded HHS Learning Portal.

What can users expect during the black-out period?

Users will not have access to the HHS Learning Portal during the black-out period.

What should users do if they started an action in the LMS and did not complete it before the blackout?

All actions started in the LMS should not be impacted by the LMS black-out or the system upgrades.

What changes can users anticipate once the HHS Learning Portal upgrade is completed effective September 4, 2009?

The HHS Learning Portal upgrade will provide the following enhancements:

  • The patches will resolve several system issues and will improve overall performance within the system.
  • The "My Sucess Plan" module of the system has been enhanced to allow for the development and deployment of online forms such as Individual Development Plans and Performance Plans.
  • The Performance Review module was activated in the system and allows performance ratings to be completed, electronically signed, and stored online. This is a key component of the ePMAP initiative to automate the employee appraisal process with a phased implementation beginning in January 2010.

Where should users direct questions?

Users should direct questions in reference to the HHS Learning Portal to the HHS University Learning Management System's Helpdesk at 1-866-246-5440 or DHHSHelp@gpworldwide.com.
